The Executive Faculty Committee on Space Allocation

Approved May 5, 2006

 

  1. The Main Campus Space committee, a standing committee of the Main Campus Executive Faculty, shall work with the Office of the Provost and the Deans to set policies for the allocation of academic space on the Main Campus.
  2. All proposals for space allocation with academic implications shall be submitted to the Main Campus Space Committee for consideration.
  3. The Committee shall consist of:
    1. The Chair of the Main Campus Executive Faculty (or the Chair's designee) who will serve as Chair of the Committee.
    2. Five Members of the ordinary faculty, consisting of one representative from each of the following areas:
      1. Laboratory Sciences
      2. Social Sciences
      3. Languages and Linguistics
      4. Humanities (other than the languages)
      5. Programs residing in the Car Barn
    3. Four Ex-Officio members
      1. The Provost (or the Provost's designee)
      2. The University Registrar
      3. The University Architect (or designee)
      4. The Vice President for Student Affairs
  4. The faculty representation listed above may be changed from time-to-time by a resolution of the Main Campus Executive Faculty to reflect changes in the nature of the space issues confronting the Main Campus.
  5. The Committee may draw on the expertise of other members of the University community that it deems appropriate.
